about me

I am a painter living and working in the hills of western Massachusetts and the beaches of St Croix. I have been painting for over 30 years. My paintings come from the wild, untamed places within all of us-using the technique called process painting. I let the paint and the brush tell me where to go- let’s see what happens! My subject matter can range from palm trees, ocean scenes, even abstract flying fish, and winter wonderlands. I love giving to people the peacefulness of the ocean, or the delight of dancing angels, or the serenity of an octopus swimming. 

 

I also love painting floor cloths, a tradition that goes back to my Norwegian roots, where vintage vinyl floor cloths are handed down, generation, to generation. I use preservation techniques to ensure that my floor cloths will last several decades. I love to incorporate the vintage designs with more contemporary subject matter. I also love bringing to life the ideas people have. Commissions collaborating to make a floor cloth out of, say, the gorgeous Corona Virus photos (yes this happened), or even your beloved violin with flowers—whatever it may be—I love sharing this process with you. I even had one client ask me to paint their outside door with one of my paintings! Furniture, doors, floor cloths, even suitcases: your ideas can be brought to life with my signature designs.
